Large Slate Signage

At our workshops, we can cut slate to almost any size, creating bespoke slate signs or memorial tablets made exactly to your requirements. We keep a wide stock of slate in various thicknesses and can source extra-large pieces quickly if needed.

Our large slate signs are crafted from natural slate with a smooth surface that beautifully highlights the grain and markings—making each piece truly unique.

Because of their size and weight, very large slate signs cannot fit into our sandblasting cabinet and must be blasted outdoors. This process can only be carried out in dry weather. For larger signs and memorial stones, we typically use slate in thicknesses of 20–30mm but we also stock some 50mm & 75mm slate.

Slate House Sign with Raised Lettering

This is a new type of slate house sign which looks very smart indeed.  It can be designed with or without a border and to any size. The background is blasted away and painted, which leaves the slate lettering slightly raised and proud of the background, which can be painted or left natural

Purbeck Stone Signs

Embrace a truly British heritage for your sign. Many of our customers now choose locally sourced materials over stone imported from India, China, or Brazil, and our premier choice is Purbeck stone. Quarried on the historic Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, this exceptionally durable limestone tells a unique geological story. It is a fossiliferous stone, meaning its surface is a decorative tapestry of tightly packed freshwater snail and bivalve shells from millions of years ago. We cut this hard-wearing stone to a solid 30mm thickness to create a distinctive and long-lasting sign.

Laser Etched Slate Signs & Plaques

Using this method the slate is surfaced etched using a powerful laser. This technique is ideal where smaller text or detailed images are required which cannot be deep engraved or sandblasted into the slate. We are also able to laser etch good photos into slate. We can combine the two methods, whereby we deep engraved and paint the lettering and add a laser engraved photo or detailed image.

Laser etching takes us less time and materials than sand-blasting or deep engraving and therefore it is considerable cheaper.

Slate Number Sign

Our slate house number signs are available in a range of sizes and styles. While we offer plenty of ideas for inspiration, you have full control over the details - choose your own font, border, logo, and even text colour to achieve the perfect look. Prices start at just £17 for a simple yet stylish 100mm x 100mm (4" x 4") house number, making it an elegant and affordable choice.

Personalised Slate Doorsteps

These are really unique and add a lovely touch to the entrance of your home or business. Can be cut to any size. Price includes two images. As these are unpainted it is best to choose a bold font. The sand blasted design also adds grip to the step as smooth slate can be slippery in the wet.
